Year 7 Subjects Offered at St Albans Secondary College

  • Integrated Studies - combines the skills of English, Geography and History.

  • Mathematics – strengthens and expands the number skills developed in primary school.

  • Science – includes many practical activities and places a major emphasis on teaching students to investigate and learn from their discoveries.

  • Physical Education – aims to develop many of the basic skills which apply to most sporting pursuits, and to introduce students to other pursuits that are recreational in nature.

  • Language - offers the choice of a language (other than English). This may be Italian, French or Japanese. English as a Second Language - offered to students whose first language is not English. Students who have been in Australia for less than 7 years, or those who have had interrupted schooling attend these classes.

  •  Creative Arts/Technology Program - students rotate through the following subjects spending at least one term on each activity:

    • art,
    • graphics,
    • woodwork,
    • textiles,
    • drama, cooking and
    • music.
