At St Albans your child will enjoy a positive and supportive learning environment.

In state wide surveys St Albans’ students are highly motivated and confident in learning. They regard their teachers as being effective, are well behaved in the classroom and hold their teachers in high regard.

We believe that such positive perceptions and experiences stem from our school values as guiding principles:

  • show leadership by taking responsibility and being committed to our vision and to each other,
  • demonstrate respect, tolerance and fairness to each other,
  • show integrity at all times by being open and honest,
  • take pride in our achievements and strive for academic excellence, and
  • value critical thinking, creativity and risk taking in our learning.

Guiding principles

In the St Albans Secondary College community we believe that each person has the right to teach or learn in a safe, caring and co-operative environment in which everybody can enjoy self respect.

Individuals are responsible for their own actions and should respect the rights of others in regard to their person, space and property.

The school is committed to the provision of programs and resources designed to encourage the development of academic, social and personal skills.

All members of the school community are expected to follow a code of behaviour which supports a positive learning environment. Regardless of gender, race or ethnicity, people are to be treated equally and have equal access to educational opportunity within the school community.
