St Albans Secondary College is pleased to offer students access to the Internet and electronic mail (email). We are committed to providing electronic information services to students to support their learning, and strongly believe in the educational value of these electronic services. St Albans Secondary College is using the EduNet Internet service which has been set up by the Department of Education especially to meet the needs of schools. We recognise our responsibility in supervising Internet access by students so that it is used for educational purposes only, and the school will make every effort to protect students from any misuses or abuses using telecommunications. However, we believe that the opportunities that Internet access provides for students will outweigh any disadvantages. The responsibility for setting and conveying standards and dealing with inappropriate material is a joint responsibility of students, parents / guardians and the school. Internet access is a right and involves certain responsibilities. The following guidelines are designed to ensure that students and their families understand the conditions for Internet use at St Albans Secondary College. Conditions of use:

- Students should plan investigations to make their use of the Internet as efficient as possible.
